Conservation

It's Wild

PRESERVING  WILDERNESS & PROTECTING THE FUTURE

True wilderness, extraordinary wildlife encounters and life-changing experiences await within the vast, untamed landscapes of Kruger Safari Collection.

From the very beginning, the directors recognised not only the environmental importance of the Greater Balepye Nature Reserve, but also its incredible potential for community empowerment and sustainable development. With a deep respect for both nature and people, they actively engaged local communities, ensuring their voices and involvement became part of every step in the conservation journey.

Driven by a bold vision, we aim to create a world-class reserve standing alongside some of South Africa’s most renowned wilderness areas, including Sabi Sands, Timbavati, Klaserie and Balule Nature Reserve. Our commitment to preserving wildlife, protecting biodiversity and creating meaningful impact knows no boundaries.

Join us on this remarkable journey as we continues to shape a future where nature thrives, wildlife roams freely and conservation excellence leads the way.

Protecting the Wild from Above

SUPPORTING CONSERVATION, PROTECTING WILDLIFE, PRESERVING THE FUTRE

Conducting patrol helicopter flights is vitally important in our wildlife conservation and management efforts, and to protect our precious natural resources.

It allows us to survey large areas of land efficiently and quickly to monitor wildlife and deter illegal activity, while offering rapid response assistance to anti-poaching activities.

Our aerial operations is a vital tool and our eyes in the sky to support our active ground teams in preventing illegal activities and helps saving the lives of injured animals, not easily identified on foot by our ground teams.

Balule Nature Reserve

KRUGER SAFARI COLLECTION

Balule Nature Reserve (Balule) is an Association of 12 regions comprising almost 55 000 ha. Balule has a Federal Governance structure where each region (individual Reserve or group of smaller Reserves) has it’s own ownership model and Governance structure, that feeds upwards into the Federal structure.

Balule boasts the most diverse blend of ownership models across the various regions, these include: Private landowners, Companies, Share-Blocks and Community land. Balule is part of the 200 000 ha Associated Private nature reserves (APNR – Timbavati, Klaserie, Umbabat, Thornybush and Balule) that are open to Kruger Park and have enjoyed a Cooperation Agreement with SANParks since 1994.

We are also party to the new GLTFCA Cooperation Agreement – (Greater Limpopo Trans Frontier Conservation Area).

Our vision for conservation

From the outset, the directors recognised not only the environmental significance of Greater Balepye Nature Reserve, but also the immense potential it held for community empowerment and development. In a heartwarming display of solidarity, they actively engaged with the local community, seeking their input and involvement in every step of the conservation process.

We unveil our grand vision to create a world-class reserve that will stand shoulder to shoulder with renowned reserves like Sabi Sands, Timbavati, Klaserie and Balule Nature Reserve. Our commitment to preserving wildlife and fostering biodiversity knows no bounds, and we are on an ambitious journey towards redefining conservation excellence.

Join us on this remarkable journey where Beyond Kruger strives to create a reserve where nature thrives, wildlife roams freely, and conservation triumphs.
